16-cent Aggravation

After a recent peak, gasoline prices are falling a little. I had bought some for $2.02 and thought that was pretty good. Then I saw gas for $1.96. I had half a tank, but I pulled in to get some of this cheaper stuff.

So I bought 8 gallons of gas at $1.96. While I was standing there filling the tank, I saw this fellow climbing up the ladder to the big sign where the station posts its prices. He fumbled around for a while and changed the sign to $1.94. As I sat back down in the driver’s seat I glanced back at the gas pump I had just used and the price was now $1.94. What aggravation, what consternation! And all over 16 cents.
